Winnie & Walter Leading Lady, Take 4

Winnie and Walter September Leading Lady Take 4 by Carson Riutta Watercolor Backgrounds

This is it friends, my fourth and final Leading Lady post over at Winnie & Walter.  I’ve had such a fun and creative month using their stamps, dies and stencils to make some really bold and colorful cards.  For my last project, I just had to use the stunning mosaic die sets called Flawless Diamond Cutaways, True Multifaceted Heart Cutaways and True Multifaceted Circle Cutaways.  These sets are so well designed that they make a very intricate looking project, very easy to complete.

I created four tags and two cards using these supplies and here is just a taste of what you’ll find over on the Winnie and Walter blog today.  So please head on over to see the complete project and read my process.

Carson, again, I’m in jaw-dropped, breath-taken-away awe at the stunning, bursts-of-colour tags and cards that you created as your finale projects at W&W! Your ‘willy-nilly’ inked and splattered with water backgrounds are works of art in and of themselves; pairing them with the heart and diamond multifaceted cutaways and the Big, Bold and Fun sentiments elevates them to glamourous! The panel you were smitten with: I can definitely see why! Glad you left it intact, as it’s a perfect canvas for the “Shine bright” elements. The special “little” touches you’ve incorporated – the pretty ribbons, the placement of mosaic pieces, the bits of bling, the diagonal background on the last card, the ‘perfectly’ placed streak of blue in the diamond cuts – all these are simply marvelous! Stellar, sensational, spectacular! Looking forward to seeing more of your creative enterprises here and on instagram! You’ve WOWed me several times over…Thank you!

I’ve really enjoyed your leading lady posts, and this is another good one! Distress watercolor is a favorite of mine. You’ve created some gorgeous backgrounds, paired beautifully with the dies to create more pretty projects. You made the right decision with the ribbon, too. Yet another inspiring, pin-worthy post. Congratulations!

Your projects for this final week are spectacular. I have also been pre-making some sheets of watercolor papers so that they will be dry and ready when I need them for stamping or die-cutting. Please know that I am taking notes as to your brilliant color combinations. It’s amazing to me that it is literally impossible to make two backgrounds look the same when working with watercolors. And then when the panel dries, a totally new version of what you thought you created. I have enjoyed seeing your talents this past month.

These are such pretty tags! I especially like the “play” one–the colors are so pretty and the gold ribbon is perfect. I think the the paper would also look gorgeous on the Renee’s Leaves set I just saw on the Simon Says Stamp blog. 🙂

I’ve never used distress stains because I thought they looked too messy. However, I love the backgrounds you created with them. They look perfect with the dies you chose. The pink and purple heart is my favorite!
