Happy Holidays friends! I hope you’re deep into your holiday playlists and almost prepped, at least mentally, for all that the season will rain down upon us in the next few weeks 🙂 My little family has plans to spend the holidays with family and friends on the West Coast between California and Washington State. We’re excited for the trip and busy, busy up until the day we depart. So we decided to go very minimal with our Christmas decor this year. No outdoor lights, no tree, just a wreath for our front door and this darling little mantel. In fact, we only pulled the Advent calendar out of the garage and left the multitude of other boxes untouched *gasp!
I knew I wanted to create some Christmas joy in the house for the kids, so I decided to raid my craft room and more specifically the American Crafts All Wrapped Up Collection, to decorate our mantel, where the advent calendar was going to reside. I love all the bright, traditional colors and bold patterns in the collection and that adorable stocking banner was crying out to be embellished and hung!
I, of course, had to have a little bling on the banner and I found some die-cut pieces from the Dear Lizzy Saturday collection to help me add the gold touches I was looking for. Once I got started with the gold, I couldn’t stop and so I found my large chipboard letters from Studio Calico and created a little title for my mantel, hey I’m a scrapbooker, what can I say?
The final touch was to add a small triangle in the top left corner of the mantel with some paper scraps and mini clothespins!
I’m super happy with the way it turned out and with minimal effort and cost on my part. It’s my small attempt to keep our Christmas fun and low stress for all of us this holiday season! May your month be filled with Joy and Peace and be as stress free as possible.
Merry Crafting friends!
