Project Life: Hello Fall

Project-Life-Title-Blog

Hello friends!  I’ve recently been playing around with creating my PL layouts digitally, taking advantage of all the great digital products over at digitalprojectlife.com.  This layout was done almost exclusively digitally with just a few embellishments added in the final stages.  Page 1 full

I love that I can play with the journaling cards and elements in PSE to get my colors just right and my fonts just the way I want them.  I love that I can use the page templates to design each page before it’s printed.  I also love that I can turn my rounded corners into straight corners if I’m feeling so inclined.

However, the final layout feels lacking in texture when done digitally.  It’s bold, its bright, its coordinated, but I don’t’ want to reach out and touch it; I don’t marvel at all the little details.   I have a feeling that as I settle into my rhythm of creating more and more PL layouts I’ll probably go with a hybrid approach.

Have any of you found the happy medium between digital and paper layouts?  I would love to know how you incorporate the digital elements into your process but still manage to use all the amazing paper products that we all hoard.

I hope you like the layout.  It was a fun fall now that the Bubs is at that age where everything is so new and exciting.  His enthusiasm over the leaves changing colors was almost enough to distract me from the dropping temperatures and gray days.

I am actually doing PL paper style..but I am a digital scrapbooker and designer so I have done lots of printing things digitally and what not. I think the key to hybrid PL is to print out cards and photos and then add paper embellishments to make it feel more dimensional and textured. I feel like your spreads here are perfect!! They look awesome! <3 <3

I think you’re absolutely right, but the one problem I have is that I love buying PL paper cards but I don’t like my handwriting. Have you experimented with printing onto journaling cards. I’ve seen a few tutorials online and will probably give it a try. Thanks so much for the compliment and comment!
